The NCSU Gregg Museum of Art & Design opens two new exhibitions on Thursday, August 21 with a talk by exhibiting artist, Charles Ritchie, at 5 pm followed by a reception from 6-8.
Frozen Music: Frank Gehry and the Walt Disney Concert Hall will be on exhibit from August 21 – December 17, 2008. Photographs and drawings from Gehry Partners illustrate the design and technology embodied by the monumental building and are complimented by more than 70 photographs by Gil Garcetti, the centerpiece of the exhibition. Garcetti’s photographs celebrate the building’s form and the workers responsible for assembling the complex steel frame. The exhibition organizer is the Virginia Center for Architecture, Richmond, Virginia.
The NCSU Gregg Museum is located on the 2nd floor of Talley Student Center on Cates Avenue. Exhibition hours are usually Noon to 8:00 pm W-F; 2-8 pm Sat. and Sunday, Closed University Holidays, Admission is Free.
